Autumn has a beautiful way of announcing its presence as delicate leaves begin to change their colours, creating an amazing spectrum of warm cosy tones.
Celebrate the change of season with this beautifully simple bunting DIY.
Enjoy going for a stroll in the fresh air, crunching the fallen leaves under your feet and collecting a few specimens to get crafty with.
What you will need:
- Autumn leaves
- Flower press or similar contraption
Collect your leaves! Choose leaves that have recently fallen from the tree that haven’t already dried out and that still have a little bit of stem attached.
Press your leaves, you can learn how to make your own flower press here, alternatively if you don’t have access to a flower press you can place your leaves between two pieces of paper and place a heavy weight on top – like a large book. It will take about a week for your leaves to dry fully and flatten.
Construct the bunting by looping the twine around the steams of your pressed leaves and knotting them in place, leaving your desired gap between each leaf.
As easy as that you have a seasonal bunting to decorate your abode for those cosy autumn feels.
